Red Eye

Short but sweet scary

Okay, so I've really wanted to see Red Eye for a while as I'm a big fan of both Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams. So I finally bought the DVD  and gave it a watch.

I don't know how many of you have seen the trailer, but to start with the film appears to be some sort of love story. Let me tell you now it is far from it!!! So for those who are hoping with some chic flick, I'm afraid that you will be very disappointed.

Those who have either seen or know of films by Wes Craven will know that he specialises in scary sort of creepy films such as 'A nightmare on Elm street' and 'Scream'. Now this film isn't really a horror film, but more of a thriller. However that isn't to say that there aren't  some particularly disturbing moments that will literally make you turn your head from the screen.

As the antagonist, Cillian Murphy (with those crazy blue eyes) is brilliant. He plays a fantastic psychopath and Rachel McAdam's performance has us even more convinced that this guy is dangerous. As the innocent victim McAdam's has us terrified of her fate throughout.

The film begins at an airport and is set around  'a very delayed flight to Miami' (The Red Eye flight). This is  where we meet Rachel McAdam's character Lisa who meets a rather charming stranger called Jack....Ripner (Cillian Murphy). To begin with it seems merely coincidental that they keep bumping into other. This of course is no coincidence and we soon learn who Jack is and what he plans to do.

On the whole the film is really entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. My only slight disappointment was with how short the film was as it only came to 90 minutes and I was left wanting to see a little more action. However the film really is worth a watch and I would definitely recommend seeing it.
