Film sites

Being a huge film fanatic I have a range of film sites that I frequently look at which I think some may be interested in:

http://www.imdb.com

 - Most will know of this site, it's brilliant for learning about new releases, watching trailers, watching interviews, reading other reviews, learning more about specific  films (Trivia, Goofs) etc

http://www.imsdb.com

 - If like me, you enjoy reading screenplays then you'll love this site which has a range of film scripts. Not only is this great for reading and seeing what the actors and crew worked from, but also for knowing how to structure your own scripts.

http://www.acting-auditions.org

-This primarily is for actors to find film and television auditions however I like to look through it to find out what films are in the pre-production/ production stage. This way I know about films that I coming out way in advance before many people.

http://www.empireonline.com

-I love the empire magazine and the site is equally useful. Empire is great for in depth detail into filmmaker's and their techniques as well as filming locations and reviews.

https://vimeo.com   -

-Best place to find talented filmakers.

www.youtube.com

  - Another place to find short films.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/

-If you are British and you want to be a scriptwriter, I highly recommend sending your script through this process. The BBC is a great company to develop a career with.

http://www.creativeskillset.org/film/jobs/

-This site gives a breakdown and in-depth detail of all the roles involved in film-making. That covers pre-production, production, post production etc. Whether you do or don't know what role you want in the film industry, the job profiles will allow you to see the sorts of skills and training you'd need to perform well in the various jobs.
