Star Trek into Darkness

Go.See.It.

Stark Trek into Darkness is brilliant. As usual J. J Abrams has done a spectacular job across all aspects, casting, effects and plot. The cast made up of Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto and other superb actors is really touching in points and keeps the audience thoroughly entertained throughout.

I have to say my biggest expectation was for Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison. After his performance as our beloved Sherlock Holmes, I was rather interested what he would be like as a villain. He definitely didn't disappoint, with his unique deep voice and ability to portray superior/genius characters.

I think that I was most impressed by the uncanny portrayal of Mr Spock by Zachary Quinto. Not only does he look just like him, but the mannerisms and the general portrayal is spot on. Sat in the audience, Spock definitely received the most laughs for his performance. I think also the relationship between Spock and Uhura was very heartfelt and emotional in places.

As Captain Kirk, Chris Pine was also fantastic. He was thoroughly entertaining as an almost arrogant and instinctual character. The transition that his character and the journey is intriguing for us.

Then of course there is Simon Pegg as the scottish character Scotty. His short temper and ranting and raving throughout makes the dramatic moments hysterical.

Really I could go through the entire cast and compliment their performances. The cast was very well picked and really helps to drive the plot. The special effects and action sequences are also brilliant and help to enhance the world/galaxies which Trekkies have experienced in previous TV series.

I cannot express enough how amazing this film is. If you're sat on the fence about it, please go and see it anyway.
